the weekend before christmas clay, sean, and i rode to atlanta on the chief ladiga/silver comet trail from anniston. the group started with us three, barry burton, nathan pocus, sam porter, and andrew wells. here is a timeline of what went down.
9:00am- Crew leaves from start of the chief ladiga. spirits are high.
20 miles in: Take a break in Piedmont, AL. Sean's gooch is numb so he adjusts his saddle.
24 miles or so in: Barry and Andrew split from the group and do some hill climbs in Piedmont.
27 miles in: I get a flat.
36 miles in: Stateline. Clay get's a flat. Sam and Nathan turn around.
39 miles in: Clay gets another flat.
44ish miles in: Hills start.
50ish miles in: Cedartown, GA. Refill water. stretch legs. clay, in an effort to hand pump his tire, breaks the stem off of his
tube. has to fix another flat.
Just outside of Cedartown: Clay eats it on a wet bridge.
Cedartown-Rockmart: Rolling hills that slow us way down.
65ish miles in: Rockmart, GA. Stop for lunch at Frnakie's. Awesome! Clay changes out of jeans.
67ish miles in: I get another flat.
75 miles in: Sun goes down, fuck....
97 miles in: Trail ends in Smyrna, GA.
105 miles in: Get on a bus to MARTA, catch a train to North Ave. Ride to the hostel.
10pm : Check into the hostel
it was an interesting experience. and by interesting i would say that it sucked. it was wet the whole time. the sun went down.
riding on 60 psi sucks.
atlanta was fun.
amtrak back was expensive. it's $20 for a bike box by the way. in case you were wondering.

That's one for the grandkids. Well done guys. Would you ever do it again?
maybe. with a free place in atlanta, a longer day, sun or at least not wet, and with a support car to carry stuff and bring use back. totally in that situation. my bag was a good 15lbs. without that it would have been much better.
i would have brought you bag too sweetheart like i did for sean.
give us a shout next time you're town!
i have a free place in atl,
and amtrak with a bike is cheaper than the bus trust me,
