La Presse Francaise

today, alan and i did a cyclo-centric photo shoot for an upcoming publication that we've been doing the design and photography for, respectively. he had a camera literally strapped to his chest while he rode behind me and we did laps between 3rd ave s and 1st ave n, jason wallis rode behind us in the car and triggered the camera via remote. hopefully there are some cool shots to be posted from this next week.

after all of that was done, we wrapped up the week with a ride to five points to enjoy a little fair trade french press. i had heard that starbucks will make a fair trade brew for you if there's none in the main carafes. so we both ordered fair trade coffees, only to find out that they have to brew an 8-cup french press carafe. the good news, though, is that it was cheaper than it would have been for two grande coffees. duly noted, green two-tailed mermaid, duly noted.

also, today i worked up a ridiculous design to promote commuter solidarity and brocycle.com... interestingly enough, it depicts a cyclist with his fist in the air, and uses the phrases "commuter solidarity" and "brocycle.com". it's also very helvetica'd out. eventually i'll get it up on flickr and then up on this page. the ultimate goal is to get stickers and posters printed and grow a little commuter community out there.

we've seen 'em out there, now we just need to get us all in the same place at the same time. i think if every cyclist knew to throw up the Fist of Solidarity, it would be a step in the right direction.
